How to Request Tissue

Prepare Form A
Complete the tissue request form with your project details, PI information, and specific tissue requirements.

Ethics Approval
Obtain Institutional Human Tissue Use / Ethics Committee approval at your institution.

Submit to Centre
Send your completed Form A and ethics approval to your preferred centre's contact email.

Processing & Dispatch
The centre reviews your request and dispatches approved tissue specimens with accompanying clinical data.
Form A — Required Information
→ Name of Principal Investigator and affiliations
→ Title and summary of the research project
→ Funding agency for the project
→ Justification for the use of human brain tissue
→ Type of sample required (fresh / formalin-fixed / slides / fluids)
→ Quantity and units required
→ Specific conditions for procurement, processing, and storage
→ Clinical details required with the sample
→ Institutional Ethics Committee approval status (Yes/No)
Material Transfer Conditions
All tissue transfers are subject to the following conditions, in line with ICMR guidelines:
- • Donor identity must not be disclosed (specimens are coded or anonymised)
- • Full compliance with applicable State and Ethics Committee regulations
- • Material is provided for research purposes only — not for commercial use
- • The tissue may NOT be used in human subjects
- • Both parties (provider centre and recipient researcher) must sign the Material Transfer Agreement
- • An optional transmittal fee may apply for preparation and shipping costs
